Call him old-fashioned, romantic, or whatever. His music is magnificent. I believe his symphonies are unsurpassed by any written in the twentieth century, Rachmaninoff being the sole exception. I am deeply grateful and still haunted by both men's music. We could use more romanticism in this hard, harsh world. Dissonance and discord are vastly overrated.
